As a photographer and artist, I use my imagination in the application of post-processing techniques to convey what I was feeling at the moment, rather than just duplicating reality. Capturing a good shot in-camera is only half the challenge as it also needs to be finished in the digital darkroom. This allows every artist to control the outcome of their work to make it uniquely their own. As a result, many of my images have a painterly, impressionistic quality and because they are colorful and the subjects nostalgic, the effect tends to evoke the feeling of a simpler place and time.
My hope is that through my work the viewer experiences this sensation as well.
